Fortis Advisory CIC
About us
Run by Fortis Advisory CIC
Garioch Secure Support is a project run by Scottish non-profit Fortis Advisory CIC (https://fortisadvisory.co.uk/about-us/). We have no salaried staff and are run by volunteers.
We have three volunteer board members. We also have other volunteers in areas such as Edinburgh, Falkirk and Glasgow. Meet our team – https://fortisadvisory.co.uk/meet-our-team/
Why start this project?
At Fortis we already have an existing volunteer base and are already referral partners with many organisations. We have benefit and debt advisers who volunteer with us. We wanted to start a project targeting a set region in Scotland that doesn’t have a strong crisis support offering locally. Having piloted a smaller crisis support project in Fraserburgh, we were ready to launch Garioch Secure Support.
One of our board members lives in Kemnay and has lived in Inverurie and Westhill. This local knowledge is vital in launching a local project.
How can I help?
If you are interested in volunteering with us please get in touch at contact@fortisadvisory.org.uk. All volunteering is remote and online. Training is provided and volunteering is flexible.
You can also donate to us on the crisis pages where we are asking for support.
How are you funded?
We are run and funded by volunteers and small public/company donations. We keep our costs very low and are not reliant on grants. While our cost-base is low, donations help and allow us to expand our offering to more areas.
